The place is quite lit up but still kind of cozy. The service was really good and the food came very fast. The soft shell crab (was a daily special when we visited) was totally amazing! Overall a high level of cooking!

Cochon is a great Cajun restaurant. The service is very attentive, and the interior smells deliciously of smoke. From the small plates, we ordered fried alligator with chili garlic mayonnaise. The meat was cooked well, and the sauce really complemented the taste of the alligator. For the entrées, we ordered rabbit & dumplings and Louisiana Cochon, served with creamy grits and onion gravy. Both dishes had a comforting, home-style feel—the rabbit was baked, and the Cochon was cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious and, for our taste, quite unique. If you're looking to try something new, I highly recommend having dinner at this place.

A hidden gem in Nola, first time here in this restaurant and won’t be last! Thanks to my beloved friend who recommended this place for me and I would regret it if I didn’t make it here. In my opinion this place is serving the best wood-fired oysters I’ve ever had, best of the best!! I love all the food in Nola but Cochon is my absolute top one and after I had the oysters my heart was melting and I wish I could eat this every day. This place is going to be my go to spot every time I visit Nola and the service was amazing my server came and checked every single time I got a new dish and she gave me a good recommendation as well. 5 stars for me!!

Fantastic smoked ham steak with peach. What a treat. The chef complimented us with an exceptional Mac and cheese after he saw how we were eyeing it while sitting kitchenside. It was extremely gracious and we thank you for the hospitality - from your friends in Canada :)

Best restaurant in New Orleans so far. Amazing modern take on traditional food. If you’re visiting NOLA definitely need to try. We had boiled peanuts, fried boudin, fried alligator and the signature smoked pork with blueberry sauce. The waiters are super friendly <3

Amazing from start to finish. We ordered the oyster bacon sandwich, brisket, green beans and fried boudi. Everything tasted great and I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as good, the chefs really know what they’re doing! Even the bread and butter for the table was some of the best I’ve ever had. The peanut butter chocolate dessert was phenomenal and the blueberry cobbler was very tasty as well. Servers were also super sweet and made sure to accommodate us as my mom was in her scooter that day. Would definitely recommend and return!

We headed here after the WWII museum and had a most amazing lunch. We had the shrimp stew based on the bartender recommendation, and I could not have been happier. A delicious broth with wilted greens and tasso was perfect with the shrimp. We also had the crawfish pie and Mac and cheese which were also excellent. The drinks were very good, and I the service was A+

As an out of towner, Cochon gives the impression of a clean, professional Cajun restaurant that is perfect for date night, or for a night to invite out of town business professionals. We started with Fried Okra served with a Green Onion Aioli, and Blistered Shishito peppers with tomatoes. The peppers and tomatoes were excellent, although not necessarily authentic Cajun. Not gonna complain about that though when they're as flavorful as they are. The Okra was also solid, but the Green Onion Aioli was incredible. I would commit felonies, plural, for more of this and they were kind/unbusy enough to actually tell me what the recipe was. It's not super complicated and I will try to make a poor recreation of this sauce. We made sure that there was NONE left on the plate when we were done. The Macaroni and Cheese was tasty, but was cooked with Chicken Broth which gave her issues. It wasn't particularly surprising, but she stated that it was tasty. I got the Catfish Courtboullion with Popcorn Rice. It was a very tasty fish stew. The catfish tasted lightly breaded but to call it a Fish Stew with a buttery tasting rice would be the most accurate way to describe it. Cochon's has a little bit of a clinical, formal atmosphere to it. If that's your aesthetic, you'll be very happy. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, other times I'm in the mood for somewhere where coming in with clean jeans is overdressed. Either way, the food is quality and you'll certainly enjoy yourself. An easy recommendation for this NOLA institution.

Food Super good, high quality food! The rabbit stew was awesome, the gator was amazing, and bread was the best. Service Although our server was friendly enough the other staff members were not as friendly and unnecessarily in accommodating. We had a party of 20, which is a larger group. However we were denied the ability to sit together even though all of the tables around us remained empty through the duration of our stay. Ambiance The restaurant is very trendy, clean, and modern.
